Madeline Corcoran, PLPC
Madeline holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health and Wellness from New York University. She believes that everyone, including those impacted by severe mental disorders, can improve their level of wellness through counseling. Madeline primarily works with adolescents and young adults, including parents and families. She has experience working with parents impacted by postpartum depression and anxiety. Madeline seeks to prevent the generational transmission of trauma between parents and children and recognizes the courage it takes for parents to seek counseling while navigating the personal and relationship changes that take place during the transition into parenthood. Madeline also has experience working with the individuals impacted by cancer and their families, including those experiencing anticipatory grief, complex grief, and adjustment disorders.
Madeline always seeks to provide gender and sexuality affirming counseling to her clients. She spent her internship year focusing on providing counseling to members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their family members, including those navigating the coming out process. She has worked with monogamous, ethically non-monogamous, and polyamourous couples across gender and sexuality spectrums. She believes that all intersections of one’s identity play a role in the counseling process and helps clients process how their experiences relate to their intersectional identities. Madeline respects her clients as experts in themselves and sees counseling as an opportunity for deeper exploration and processing of experiences, relationships, and identities.
